About the Author
D.M. Cornish is an acclaimed children's illustrator. He began making notes and drawings for his debut novel FOUNDLING over thirteen years ago and had filled almost thirty journals with sketches, ideas and character profiles before the first volume of the MONSTER BLOOD TATTOO trilogy took shape. Nice take on the monster world fantasy books.

The Lamplighter series is well written and engrossing. I read these books with my 13 year old charge. We loved the books. We would be bursting to tell one another what had happened or was going to happen.
I believe that getting children involved in book series is a great invitation to the world of writing and the world of in this case fantasy. The central characters are all very different from one another, which is a nice introduction to children, about diversity. The other big plus for me was one young man who thought independently and was not swayed by group hate, even though the cost of taking this stand or thinking these thoughts for that matter was a very dangerous thing.

How could the journey possibly be over? The ending is perfect....but don't peek? Some book company NEEDS to publish more of Mr Cornish's work!

A fun read

Inventive, compelling, enjoyable. I read book two of the trilogy first and was hooked. I sent to across the ocean to get this book, I had to know what happened next.
