Worth the Read

This is a very inspirational easy read. It is required reading for my Science of the Mind course. It's pretty amazing that studying this book alone kept dangerous prisoners from returning back to prison and changing their lives around for the better!

I have a story to share...

I was in my early 20's when I was doing some computer work for a man I'll refer to as Michael A. Michael was, shall we say, living life's abundance. He was a multi-millionaire and I had the opportunity to ask him some questions. The question I asked him is "What do you attribute your success in life to?"

His reply was simple, he said "How I handle my problems, how I take on life." He went on to tell me how horrible his childhood was growing up in a single parent family where his mother was abusive. He then left home to join the Army where he had the opportunity to vent his hatred for the world by not-so-constructive means. When he left the Army in his 30's, he stated that he was filled with such vile hatred that he was unemployable (this was in the late 70's).

He stated that he found this book, The Perfect Power Within You and he read it. He stated that it changed his life completely and set him on the course to the abundant life he lives today.

I immediately wrote this title down and started searching for it. I found it was out of print, but Amazon showed it as available (this was back in 1997). Amazon had to go to the publisher to get a few remaining copies. I finally got my hands on one by 1998 and read it, actually I worked it as it is more of a workbook.

My life has been forever changed by this simple book and I have purchased literally dozens of copies to give to friends and acquaintances that I meet who have a desire to live a life of abundance.

I may not yet be living life at the level of abundance he was, but I'm getting there. The value of this book cannot be overstated. It is a book I will not live without.

Drying

The title is misleading as the book is only really about drying grains and oilseeds. There is almost nothing on storage of grains and nothing at all on storage of oilseeds. Since storage is a lot more than just drying I would say that the book needs some rework.

Unlike most Java books, this one does not try to teach programming. It is a reference book on the language, which is exactly what I need for my course. The approach is especially useful because of the ingenious use of systematic examples that I can pick and choose from to demo in the lecture.
